Instead of bored children over the holiday period we enable them, give them a skill, even a few pence for their effort. CHILD LABOUR! I love it…I can even see the campaign banner: “MOTHERS FOR EXPLOITATION, TRAIN ‘EM UP, TAME ‘EM UP!”
Today Tom sewed all the labels on to my Loopy Leasachs and six sets of rabbit legs.
A little more training and he’ll be on to zips and chicken legs and 20p an hour if he’s lucky.
What? Did I hear you mention social services?
And apart from training my small child to be useful I made up a Miss Sew n sew sofa back for the sofa workshop, rushed to the post office to send it super quick to the upholsterer and was given my first row from David the post man for being scatty and arriving late! I’m feeling very sheepish now because David normally has the patience of mother Teresa on Valium.
And as for the weather…everything from sun to hail to horizontal rain. But look at the spectacular seascape it created.
